Doggy Bows:
Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Everything sounds good and your site looks great, but can you give me references or tell me about well-known people who buy your bows?
No!  Sorry, but our privacy policy forbids giving out personal information about our customers. We are mentioned in many newsgroup lists, in many chat rooms, and you may see our bows on dogs in shows, on television, in magazines, and in books, but we can't give you names, because we protect our customer's personal information. Our bows are sent to many well-known people and to many famous addresses, both in the United States and in other countries, but we always protect our customer's privacy. We will protect yours, too.

  2. Can I have metal clips attached to bows, instead of the bands?
Yes, if requested, but only on "Special Edition", "Large", "Medium", and "Petite" sizes.
All "Bitty", "Itsy-Bitsy",  "Tiny", and "Teeny-Weeny" bows are too small to support a metal clip; they come only with Elastic bands.

  3. What happens if the Latex bands break?
We use professional medical-grade elastic bands made in the United States, because of their reputation for consistent handling predictability. And, unlike cheaper rubber bands or "craft-quality" Latex, they last longer under repeated use. Also, we attach two elastic bands; one to use and the other available as a back-up for future use. When, after continuous long-term use, they break, then it is time for a new bow or you can attach another elastic band yourself.

  4. Should I put an elastic band in my dogs hair before attaching the bow?
Yes, that is the preferred method. By putting in an elastic band first, you are preparing the hair to receive the bow. Some owners like to fold over the hair in a top knot and attach the band to keep the hair in place. When using bows with bands attached, always prepare the hair with a band first. Then you don't have to put so much stress on the bow's attached band and the bow will be much easier to remove. The bands on the bows last much longer if the hair is prepared with a separate band first.

  5. If I use an elastic band in the hair before attaching the bow, how do I remove it later?
After the bow is removed, clip the band that holds the hair with a small pair of scissors, if necessary. Elastic bands are cheap; don't damage your dog's hair trying to pull them off, if they won't pull off easily.

  6. What if I need something special, like silver or golden beads, or I want a "V"  or "scalloped" cut on the ends of my bows?
We will comply with your special requests, whenever possible. Just let us know what you want.

  7. Do you accept special orders for custom designed bows or bows with special ribbons, like school colors?
We do special orders. Let us know what you need. Most special orders are for bows using mixtures of ribbons to match school, team, or corporate colors, but we can do much more, as long as the request uses materials we have and is mechanically possible. For custom color ribbons, send a sample of the colors to match. We will come as close to your requests, as possible. Send your request and we'll tell you if it is possible and quote the price.

  8. I have a small puppy that chews on everything in sight; will the construction materials in your bows hurt my dog?
Like all premium dog bows, ours are crafted using plastic beads or rhinestones; and some contain metal parts. Since some dogs may chew on things, good judgment and caution should be considered when using the bows. Although most small parts will "pass through" the system, bows with wire are an important concern. For that reason, we specifically mention when the bow contains wire parts.

  9. Will you acknowledge my order for bows?
Yes! We always notify you when your bow order is received. We give you the order number, and tell you the latest expected ship date. We acknowledge by e-mail, when an e-mail address is supplied, or by postal card, when no e-mail address is provided. If your order is for non-bow products only, they are shipped within a few days and, therefore, not acknowledged.

  10. Why does it take up to 2 weeks to send my bow order?
Each Fantasy Farm doggy bow is hand-crafted, one-at-a-time, only after your order is received. Each is, truly, custom-made-to-order just for you. Most are shipped in much less time, but sometimes we may be out-of-stock on a particular ribbon or supply item and need to wait for a shipment from our supplier.

  11. Why do you use USPS shipping?
We use the U.S. Postal Service because: 1) they deliver on Saturday, 2) they deliver to Post Office box addresses,  3) they don't charge extra for residential delivery, 4) they aren't subject to labor strikes, and 5) they don't raise rates without advance notice.

  12. What if I don't like your bows when they arrive?
Your purchase from Fantasy Farm Products Co. is satisfaction guaranteed. If you are not pleased with your order, return any unused items in the original delivery box and your money will be refunded (less shipping costs). It is important that they are returned in a box, because any envelope will damage the bows and we cannot refund bows that are damaged in transit.

  13. Is my payment deposited when you receive it, or after my order is shipped?
Checks and money orders are deposited, or bank card charges processed, when we actually begin work on your order. This is normal practice with custom-made merchandise. PayPal payments are processed immediately through the PayPal secure network.
